Miami, FL

An AI receptionist for Miami roofing companies

Miami roofing operates inside the strictest wind-design regime in the United States, and that is not a figure of speech. Miami-Dade sits in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, a designation the Florida Building Code applies to exactly two counties: Miami-Dade and Broward. Cross into Palm Beach and the rules change. Drive to Tampa and they change again.

What HVHZ actually changes about your work

Inside the zone, design wind speeds run at 165 mph for Risk Category I structures, 175 mph for Category II and 185 mph for Categories III and IV. Every exterior opening, residential or commercial, has to be protected against wind-borne debris by shutters or impact-resistant glazing. Roof coverings, roof systems and roof assemblies all have to be designed and installed to resist the windloads in the HVHZ chapter of the code, and exterior concrete masonry walls carry a minimum nominal eight-inch thickness. Miami-Dade publishes its own HVHZ roofing code-change guidance for the 2023 Florida Building Code, separately from the rest of the state.

Statewide, Florida already treats roofing as a specialised licence — the DBPR's Construction Industry Licensing Board runs two roofing contractor licence classes, one issued statewide and one registered for local work, and applicants on the Division I and roofing endorsement path have to complete a two-hour Florida Building Code course that includes wind-mitigation techniques. Financial responsibility is assessed from a credit report, and there are disciplinary bars on revoked or recently suspended licences.

The intake consequence is specific to this zone: a Miami roofing call frequently is not "how much for a roof." It is a question about product approval, opening protection, or whether an assembly the caller has been quoted will actually pass inside HVHZ. Those callers are comparing companies on whether the person answering sounds like they know the zone exists.

Answering through storm season

The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, with the statistical peak on September 10 and most activity between mid-August and mid-October. Your call volume is not evenly spread across the year, and neither is your competition's — after a named storm passes, every roofing company in South Florida is taking inbound simultaneously, and the ones who answer take the work.

Padoori picks up on the first ring, at whatever hour the calls arrive, and asks what your office asks: property type, what the caller can see from the ground, whether there is active water intrusion, whether this is insurance-related, and the address. The agent is built during onboarding around your services and reviewed by our team before it takes a live call.

If your Google Calendar or Acuity account is connected, it books a real inspection slot onto that calendar. If you run on a CRM instead, it captures the request and the preferred time and pushes it through for your team to confirm. Thirteen integrations are live today, and it hands the call to a person whenever the caller needs one.

What it will not do

It does not quote a roof, and it does not tell a caller whether an assembly meets HVHZ. Those are answers that need your licence behind them. What it does is make sure the call reaches you at all during the six weeks a year when that is the whole game.
